I've been ridiculously quiet. Life has been this up and down staggered scary place.
But today...today is Independence Day, in so many ways. I have embarked on a new business venture, a relationship has ended and a new me is coming about. I'm all about being a phenoix. Here is to t he journey.

He had a BBQ stain on his white t-shirt, I was killing him in that mini skirt.
Thank you Tim McGraw.
Anyway - Cpt.Tightpants and myself made our way to the Cumberland County Fair this pat weekend. Oh, the fun. Firstly, I'm from Texas, we have FAIRS in Texas. Serious hard core, people come from all over the world to go to our fairs. This...was a pathetic miserable shell of a ghost haunting a dead person. It was bad to say the least. However, I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my man and seeing the animals, which was really the highlight of the Fair.
You go to the fair to see the wares (which there were none), ride the carnival rides and eat. My first rant will begin with the food. Cpt. Tightpants decided he would consume a corn dog, I however, loving New York hot dogs, decided why the hell not, hot dog it is. Can I just tell you how hard it was to find a freaking vendor that would put melted nachoesque cheese on my damn hot dog?! I was not pleased, at all. I finally found one and they were kind and loaded me up with Chili, Cheese and onions, but then put slaw on my hot dog. Ewwww... I'm spoiled from the hot dog vendor in Cpt. Tightpants home town. I love it, for a matter of a fact, I need to ask his mother if she'll call that lovely woman and see if she'll be there for when we visit over Christmas. Yes, I do love that hot dog vendor that much.
Secondly, I don't mean to get all preachy here, but, I'm annoyed. My birthday is on Halloween. I love me and therefore I love Halloween and all the fun stuff that comes with it. Now, Spirit Halloween stores are fun, costuming is awesome (duh....) so, when I walked by Spirit's booth, who paid to advertise at this local fair and someone has plopped down a Bible on the table, I get extremely irritated. Okay, I'll be honest, flat out pissed. If you are a Christian, that is fabulous and I've nothing against them in the slightest. However, putting a Bible on a Halloween store table? Really? What do you think is going to happen, people suddenly not want to dress up on Halloween if you do that? Are you kidding me?
It boils my blood. "Halloween is a Satanic holiday." No. Negative. End of story. It is NOT. I can not put that more bluntly. People who worship Halloween as an actual holiday and not some marketing scheme by major corporations celebrate it for their deceased loved ones, for their new year and various other reasons. You don't see those people coming and putting Death Dolls on your nativity scene do you? No, because they typically respect others.
Gr.
